Here’s a fun, kick butt workout…no gym required.
You’ve probably heard me say this a million times (so I’ll say it again)…
You’ve got to keep your workouts fresh, fun, new and exciting, otherwise there’s no way you’re going to stick with them. They also MUST be realistic and coordinate well with your lifestyle.
Here’s what I mean…
Let’s say someone said to me that the only way to get in shape was to go to the gym at exactly 7am every morning for at least an hour or more. Well, thank goodness that is not the case because 7am is just about the worst time for me to workout (that’s when my son wakes up), the gym is not very easy to get to on most days (did I mention said son is 11 months old?) and I do NOT have over an hour to spend at the gym (I mean, who does, right?).
Now what if someone said that there are an endless number of ways that you can get in shape, at whatever time of the day is best for you and you can do your workouts at a gym, at home or anywhere that is convenient for you? That sounds like something that would actually work right?
Lucky for me, I never have a shortage of fun workouts to choose from to keep my exercise plan new and exciting. Fitness authors from all around the world have been so generous as to share their books and programs with me for my review and when a good one comes my way, I’m always happy to share it with you.
But the last one I got comes with a bit of a funny story…
I received an email from a guy by the name of Scott, asking me if I wanted to read and try out his new fitness program. Sure, why not? I’m always up for something new.
Well, when I opened up the file he sent me, a wave of fear came over me…TACFIT Commando? Who does this guy think I am? GI Jane? He’s clearly never met me…short, petite, new mommy who wears heals at every occasion.
I was actually a little intimidated to say the least. This just didn’t seem to be something I could handle. It looked like something army recruits would be doing, not something little ‘old me could do.
But, hey, I’m willing to try anything once and as long as I didn’t have to perform this in public, who cares how embarrassing or wimpy I looked.
Well, let me tell you, not only was the workout something I could definitely handle, it was super fun, yet challenging at the same time and was all done right in my living room. I think what made it so enjoyable was that it was totally different…a completely new way of training that I’ve never done before (and I did feel a little like a tough momma there for a second…that’s right, don’t mess with me.)
And the best part was I did the entire workout in 30 minutes and didn’t need any equipment at all. How’s that for simple?
Now I’m going to ask Scott if it’s ok if I share one of my workouts with you (and I’m pretty sure he’ll say yes) but until then, take a look at Scott’s TACFIT Commando program here:

Dear Isabelle
I love your work and how you have put the most perfect package together to help people understand the concept” let food be your medicine and medicine be your food”.
Every thing you have shared has been well prepared and thought through. You have definitely helped us with diet ,exercise and the importance of positive self talk.
In appreciation and gratitude for all you do and are, Mariana Trejos, Sebastian, Florda
I lost 7 pounds in the first two weeks! Thanks Isabel. Can I expect to keep losing this fast or will it slow down?
Hey Isabel!
I have been on DSP for 16 days now, I have lost 10 lbs already and it is grate. I am always waiting for your e-mails and I have read all your blog.
This is the best program I have ever followed. Where I live Stevia is not available in the health food store so I ordered from USA and I am so excited to try it.
I am so happy to have found you and I love how open and honest you are.
Do you know anything about Chia seed and are they ok on DSP?
I also want to know if liver of lamb is ok on DSP and coconut flour?
Thank you so much for everything.
Elva
Elva,
Chia seed are fine. Same for coconut flour. Most meats are okay, but I prefer that they be free-range organic.
Keep up the great work!
I have been following your plan for 3 weeks now and I have lost about 15 lbs. Thank you for being such a great example.
dried figlets are a good source of calcium
I am from St. Vincent & the Grenadines (Caribbean)I have been on the DSP for about two weeks now and i’m feeling great. Who would have thought that the food you were told not to eat actually helps you lose weight. I have a soon to be 11 yrs old son, 8 yrs old daughter who love to exercise with me and a 10 mths baby girl. I’m am starting to feel like myself again. I gained about 30 – 40lbs with my last pregnancy and can’t weight to get back to a healthy weight. I have already shared your program with a couple of my friends and they are also loving it. Thanks a million.
After trying many ways of keeping my weight down over the years (as a dancer with 25 years training) I am pleased with the overall concept and teaching methods of your program. I have two obstacles that create additional challenges for me personally. I am a vegetarian and also now disabled due to a rare spinal cord condition known as syringomyelia, and suffer from post operative pain in the upper back as well as serious joint problems. I am slowly losing weight though I have to include non fat dairy in my diet. I do feel better. My exercise rountine does not involve any moves that put extreme pressure on joints such as deep lunges. Thank you.
I’ve just started the Diet Solution and can’t believe the amount of food I can really eat everyday. For the first few days I didn’t follow it exactly. I just started with a few changes like using stevia instead of sugar and beginning to eat breakfast. I was her typical scenerio of the no breakfast, eating very little during the day and devouring a big dinner (which always resulted in nightly heartburn and having to literally drag myself out of bed in the morning). So, on like the 4th day I really begain following it exactly as I should. The following Thursday (1 week latter) I weight myself and….OMG!! I lost 3 lbs. I was thrilled. I never had a weight problem until I reached 40….Then it was like my body shut down and I packed on 30 lbs in just a matter of months. 3 years ago I made the effort to loose it all and lost 20 lbs (this took me a year to do). But 6 months later put it back on plus an additional 20 lbs and I’m only 5 ft. 1 in. tall. So here I am at 46 years old and just thrilled so far with my results. Next Thurs. (Thanksgiving Day) I’ll weigh in again and let you know how I’m doing. I wish everyone the best on their new way of life! Blessings
