The Diet Solution Support Group
Last year I created a Facebook Fan Page where all Diet Solution followers could ask questions, post meal and recipe ideas, share success stories and just be there to support each other on good days and bad days. Yes, it’s our own little therapy group except we don’t lay on the couch and talk about our problems, we type them on Facebook instead.

On Tuesday, after one “fan” asked for meal suggestions for Easter Sunday, I decided to pose the question to the whole community.
Here was my question…
Many people celebrate Easter on Sunday. Does anyone have any healthy Easter recipes to share? It can be for an Easter lunch or dinner.
We had some great ideas posted that I wanted to be sure to share them with you.

I found that if you take a Ezekiel 4:19 tortilla, put them in the oven till they are crunchy you get great chips. Take an avocado and some hot sauce or tomatoes and the perfect snack is born

I’ve made deviled eggs using organic plain yogurt instead of mayo.

Maybe roasted leg of lamb using extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, pepper and fresh rosemary, sweet potatoes whipped with butter a touch of greek yogurt (or half&half) to make it creamy topped with walnuts and asparagus grilled with olive oil salt and pepper?
WOW, does anyone else want to go to Freddy’s house? That sounds yummy!

Coming next week…more videos!!! I know, I know, it’s been a while since I’ve gotten in front of the camera. Next week, I’ll be wiping the dust off the camera and will be showing you some of my own favorite recipes in the kitchen (and wait until you see how big my baby has gotten. I’ll make sure he makes an appearance.)
For now, make sure you come and see us on Facebook:

Boy did I mess up today! I ran out of fruit yesterday. I have been on this program for 3 weeks and doing very well if I do say so myself. I have lost 10lbs. I got rid of all the junk food except for 2 cake mixes and frosting that I bake for the church once and awhile. Ok I did it. I couldn\’t help it. I needed somthing sweet. I did not eat the cake but I really licked the bowl! I did learn from it. I do well if I have fruit in the house. So I should never run out of fruit. I am upset that I probably did a job on my diet by caving in to my sweet tooth.
sincerely

I just want to say a big THANK YOU for putting the time and energy into coming up with a way of eating that works with the type of foods that I like. The Metabolism Test really works for me. I think I have always known that I need more protein, but this protein plan gives me a better direction for my eating habits. And because of this new eating plan, I do crave less the carbs and sugars! Yeh!!! I am luckily not someone who needs to shed a lot of pounds, but I was getting tired of not losing the unwanted baby flab fast enough. I attend a boot camp class 2wice a week. Now with this new diet and the boot camp, I am gaining the muscle around the tummy. I guess I am losing some weight as well, as the belt on my jeans needs to be pulled tighter. I haven\\\\\\\’t actually tried the no dairy as I drink and eat goat milk products, but I will try that now just move that tummy flab off a little faster. Thanks for all the encouraging notes and tips!

I have an “Isabel Question”, but some of you may be able to help! I’ve been following the Diet Solution plan for 7 weeks, and I love it. I’m gluten-free/sugar-free and I’m also on a plateau. I lost 5 lbs in the first 2 weeks, and nothing since then. I would like to get rid of 7 more lbs, so, I recently bought Joel’s Xtreme Fat Loss Plan and I’m wondering what I should eat on the Cheat Days but still remain on the Diet Solution plan. Advice?
Here goes – This is a Totally New Venture for me. I have a LONG way to go. I’m trying to get it “programmed” in my brain first, so I have gotten some hypnosis therapy CD’s for that. I have some knowlege of Good Nutrition already, but The Diet Solution looks like BOOT CAMP forever. I’m already finding it “daunting” even though I’ve not actually started the program. I have over 100 lbs. to lose. My daughter and son-in-law have an organic farm, and I’ve been learning alot from them. This is their 3rd year. They have added laying hens, meat chicks (200) and 2 jersey cows, one of which is expecting end of June. Check them out at OtterHookFarm.com. I did not realize juice was NOT healthy unless squeezed or juiced by hand. I knew from my mom that juices lose nutrients quickly, and should be consumed within a short time of harvesting. She used to juice vegetables alot, and add apple for sweetness. She loved beet juice but beware: It CAN turn your urine pink which may make you think you’re bleeding with urination! God Rest her soul. She left us 01-25-2004. So NOW I have this great opportunity to RE-LEARN all the things she told me all over again AND to put it to practice! I’m still gonna need alot of support! and I hope to GIVE support in return! Thanks! KHoyt
Hi, I just have couple questions I started the program 5 week ago and the first week I lost 5 lbs and nothing ever since. The day i got the program I cleaned out my entire kitchen and got the food Isabel recomends and says is good. My husband lost 7 lbs so far and keeps loosing inches. Any advice of what to do?
If you reach a plateau after your initial period of weight loss, you might want to consider cutting out grains and dairy altogether. You may also want to look into the metabolic typing test again – sometimes people misdiagnose themselves as a type and then the plan will not work quite as well.
Just wanted to mention that there is a flourless sprouted grain bread online at the Julian Bakery called Manna From Heaven that has more protein and fiber (even in a smaller slice) than Ezekial bread. It is also soy-free and sweet-free.
Hi Isabel,
Not only have I hit a plateau after a 12 pound weight loss, but have actually gained 2 pounds. I am not doing anything different, but have got back into my exercise routine after a 6 week recovery period after surgery. What do you think the problem is. My clothes are still fitting fine, if not better.
Susan
Susan, it may be much more helpful for you to pay attention to your measurements rather than your weight. Sometimes we lose inches without much of a move on the scale – this is still a great indicator of your success though!
If you are not seeing any more improvements, you may want to recalculate your calorie count, retake the metabolic typing test, or try cutting out all wheat and dairy.
Way to go with the weight you have lost! And keep us posted on the rest of your journey!
Dear Isabel,
I think that your program looks fantastic, and i have just started it this week. I am a student in South Africa and in my first year have managed to accumulate an amazing 10kg onto my body, fun times! I come from a very healthy eating family and excercise regularly, but i wanted to find an eating program i could make into a lifestyle and not simply a way to loose my unwelcome new weight. your program looks like just what i am looking for!
I do have a few queries though. Since i live in Africa i cannot get the ezekiel bread, or products, I am very active and have to pack lunches when i go to university as i stay there for the whole day, in summer fruit and salad etc is great but now that we are in winter i am missing sandwiches etc. Can i eat things like rye bread and rice for a nice warm meal, or only after the diet? Also i run really far and wondered where i might find my energy from, since i used to rely on pastas?
one last question, i saw goji berries where recommended on a program, how do you feel them for energy and boosting immune systems?
Thank you for your time tracey
Tracey Ann,
I wouldn’t recommend eating rye bread or rice (unless it’s cooked brown rice with some form of protein).
As for what to eat for energy before a run – definitely protein and a little bit of healthy fat because that keeps you satiated longer. Also some carbs – they’ll help keep your energy up. Basically, have a balanced meal just like any other meal you’d have on the DSP.
I have been doing your program for about two weeks. I really like many aspects of the program. I have MS, diagnosed over 17 years ago, which makes it difficult for me to walk, or do any form of exercising. If I get on the floor, I have a difficult time getting back up. Do you any exercisies that are for folks that are physically limited?
Hi Isabel,
What’s your take on Greek yogurt? I always buy Oikos plain. I add fresh strawberries and a tsp of honey. Thoughts?
I just purchased your Diet Solution program today. I had become frustrated a little with very little weight loss after running and cutting out alcohol and candy bars. I wonder if the greek yogurt (which I eat every day as an afternoon snack) is actually good for me.
Leslie, plain Greek yogurt is fine – and adding strawberries and a little honey sounds like a delicious way to make it even tastier! I would not eat this all the time though, keep it in moderation (as with many other things).
