does the lemonade with the cayeene taste “peppery”?

  8. Jackie
    Jul 26 2010

Wow i have been doing that but i think it works much better with warm water when you take it as you first drink in the morning.

  9. Jul 26 2010

I drink a glass of room temp. waterr with a tbspn of Eden organic apple cider vinegar, this one comes in a brown bottle and it’s aged in wood. Taste is amazing!

  10. Jul 26 2010

@ Robert, I use Organic Blue Agave, supposed to be very low on the glycemic scale. whats your take?

For those who can work out, I sugget the Tabata method. Takes 4 minutes and it’s the hardest 4 minutes you’ve ever spent. Cant use HTML so google it.

I can’t wait to try it! :) I’m only a teenager so i don’t want to lose to much weight because i know that it’s not healthy to do so. However i’m a good weight (according to my doc.) but i’m not the most fit girl in the world. I play volleyball for my school, would this give me more energy to play volleyball while keeping burning fat?

Just getting started…I absolutely love the Special K Strawberry Kiwi Protein water mix. Is it a no-no?

  18. Jul 29 2010

Debby, I wouldn’t recommend using that. There are a lot of additives in it.

  19. Jul 29 2010

Amy, the DSP could definitely help you have more energy for athletics. Eating foods with lots of sugar and other additives can bring your energy level down in a big way. Eating healthily the DSP way could be just what you need!

  20. Jul 29 2010

Mae, most people start to feel a difference almost immediately. The weight comes off differently for everyone though – there is no set amount of time.

Is caffeine not allowed on this diet because of it’s affect on fat loss?

  22. Jul 30 2010

I recently lost 80 pounds since oct. 6, 2009. I did it under medical supervision, but was looking for a “rest of my life” healthy food eating plan when I came across this online. I am 58 and exercise to a walk at home fat burning tape 1 to 5 miles 5 days a week. I can’t do squats, etc. because of my knees. This is what started me on the lose weight kick and I am so glad that I have. Will let you know how things are going when all my books come it. Thanks

I am allergic to dairy. Are there any non dairy protein powders? How can I substitute for cheese in recipes?

  27. TheDietSolution
    Aug 9 2010

Actually, Mary, for the most part, I recommend staying away from dairy altogether. Being allergic to dairy gives you an automatic reason to do that.

Looks really good. I’m wondering about dairy.
I really like yogurt from the co-op or health food store. In fact it is usually breakfast with a health food granola, nuts fruit and non gluten grains. Also I like the same in different flavors for a snack or pick me up. No hi fruct corn syrup or art sweetners!
    what do you think? Sue

  31. TheDietSolution
    Aug 25 2010

Sue, make sure you’re paying attention to the ingredients. Flavored yogurts tend to have artificial flavoring in them. Plain yogurt is the best way to go – then (like you said) just add some fruit to give it that extra taste!

I have been drinking what sounds to be this same “lemonade” on a daily basis for over two years now – And I think I have only had one cold in that whole time. Mine is the juice of one lemon, Stevia to taste, and a quart of water. I have trouble drinking all the water I perhaps should and making this thin and refreshing lemonde has made it easier to get the fluids I need. (I get all caught up in work – at work – and often forget to eat, But I have this with me and sip on it all day.)

  39. Scott Olsen

I also use about 1/3 of the glass with Perrier with Lemon or Lime and Stevia. Minerals are a great way to keep your joint in shape.

    Dec 9 2010

Isabel, do you recommend adding cayenne pepper to the lemonade, and does it give you heart burn?

Alexandra, vanilla yogurts normally have the same amount of sugars and carbs (I think)

  41. Marianne Lindsay
    Dec 18 2010

Isabel, regarding Scott Olsen’s comment on 11-15-2010 about using Perrier … I have heard many times throughout the years that carbonation is bad for our bones so I never drink it. Please comment.

Hi Isabel, Another diet/way of life and of course I haven’t lost a bit of weight. I too, have been wondering about the various waters, and especially sparkling water. Been drinking it w/ slices of fruit over crushed ice and oh so good when it’s 115degs.outside. I absolutely love the tea juice and is my first choice of drink. Let me know what you think. M

  43. This lemonade seems to be a winner and I actually tired putting the cayenne pepper that dunk mentioned and it was ok. Not really the taste I was looking for.

Sobe zero cal. water is also very good, no sugar, not even stivia.Nothing artificial and vit. enhanced.

  45. TheDietSolution
    Apr 12 2011

Janice, here are the ingredients in SoBe’s zero calorie water:

Filtered Water, Erythritol, Natural Flavor, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Xanthan Gum, Calcium Lactate, Potassium Citrate, REB A (Purevia Brand), Modified Food Starch, Cochineal Extract (Color), Vitamin E Acetate, Calcium Phosphate, Gum Arabic, Ginseng Extract, Dandelion Root Extract, Calcium Pantothenate, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12).

That’s a lot of extras for a water drink. I would NOT recommend drinking that.

Hi Isabel-since store bought isn’t recommended becuase of all the sugar-I need a suggetion-I have type 2 diabetes-being controlled by diet-I have lost 40 lbs. I keep OJ in the fridge-because sometimes my blood sugar drops usually in the mornings and small (8oz) will help raise it up quickly-is this OK or do you have a suggestion of something I can have ready to go in that situation.

My daughter has had kidney stones since 13 years old, she is now 21 and had stones while pregnant. Well fresh lemonade did the trick. She passed the stones. 2 ounces of lemon juice in water sweatened a day is a great preventative as well.

Hi Isabel every time i drink water w lemon I get a bloated abdomin that becomes painful. It goes away if I stop that combination. When I drink tea’s which I also love I have same effect and tea isnt that good with out some thing sweet in it. It is really hard to find anything to drink o0ther than water all the time with out weight gain or bad effects. can you help with any other drink ideas

  49. TheDietSolution
    Jul 21 2011

Anita, have you tried adding a lime or orange slice to your water? Water is really the best thing to drink – it hydrates your body in a way that other drinks can’t. I understand that just drinking water can be bland sometimes, but it really is your best bet.

To get more juice from your lemon ( work”s with orange”s , lime , grapefruit too ) roll lemon on counter back and forward a few times using the palm of you hand… then place in microwave oven for 30 second”s… when cutting the fruit make sure it is over a cup or bowl.. you get so much more juice!!!
