The Best Fat Burning Pills That Do Not Exist!

Back in the day when I was still struggling to lose weight and getting totally desperate to see any kind of results, I fell into the same “quick fix” trap that I still see people falling into now. I tried every last extreme diet out there and I even resorted to dangerous fat burning pills…all in an effort to drop even just a little bit of weight…something, anything…I just didn’t want to be fat anymore.

In my own defense (if I don’t defend myself who will?), I didn’t quite know back then how dangerous these pills were…at least not as much as I know now. I just figured so many other people were taking them and they were sold at the local store, they must be safe, right? Definitely NOT!

Here was the problem (for me and maybe for you too). We all want to see results and we want to see them NOW! Not only do most of us (myself included) lack patience in many areas of our lives (yes, get it to me yesterday) but sometimes when we don’t see results in an instant, we lose steam, we give up, we just figure it’s impossible.

Now, I’m not going to turn this into a Tony Robbins, self development, “You can do it” speech. But what I am going to tell you is that if you’re looking for a quick fix to weight loss, fat burners are NOT the answer.

I could go on and on and tell you all the dangers associated with many of these pills…potential heart attack and damage to the heart, hormone disruption, stroke, permanent damage to your metabolism…but I think at this point many people are well aware of how dangerous these pills can be. We’ve all seen the unfortunate news reports of people dying from these pills…it’s just awful.

What I do want to share with you are some “safe”, quick ways to get your fat burning engine cranking. Yes, healthy eating and exercise are always the answer, but sometimes we need just a bit more to get the ball rolling.

Here are some of my own strategies that anybody can implement safely for accelerated fat loss results:

1. Eliminate Wheat and Dairy for 2 weeks or more. I know, I know…this should be the Isabel theme song. I know I remind you of this all the time, but the truth is, it works! Most wheat and dairy products will cause an inflammatory response in your body (without you even realizing they are the cause) and make it really difficult, sometimes impossible to see fat even budge off your body. Wheat products include most breads, cereals, crackers, and pastas. Dairy includes milk products and cheeses. Eggs are ok and in many cases and butter is ok as well and will not stop the fat burning process.

2. Eliminate all grains for 2 weeks or more. Holy smokes..now Isabel is getting a bit carried away here. Look I’m just telling you what works. And if you have to get into a bikini in a few weeks, your high school reunion is right around the corner (and your ex-boyfriend will be there!), or you just want the pounds to come off faster, I highly suggest going “grain free” until you reach your desired weight. NO, I’m not saying grains are unhealthy. I’m just saying sometimes fat loss will be more accelerated without them. Grains include rice, oatmeal, millet, quinoa and spelt. All healthy, yes, but a few weeks without them will help your body shed fat faster.

3. Add lemon to your water. Lemon is a wonderful detoxifier to the liver. And since the liver is your “fat burning” organ, we want it always working at optimum. Keep your liver squeeky clean, by not only eliminating processed foods and toxic substances from your eating plan but also by giving it a good cleaning with some fresh lemon. You can also add some cayenne pepper to your drink as well and that will help to get your bowels moving (if the food is not finding its way out, weight loss will be much slower).

4. Eat your fruit servings before 4pm. Again, another wonderful food group that I am in no way saying is “bad” but you may see increased fat loss results by eating your fruit with breakfast, mid morning snack and lunch and then sticking to veggies for your mid afternoon snack and dinner. Raw carrots and peppers are great with almond butter in the afternoon and a piece of steak or salmon over sautéed greens and a side salad is a great dinner. You will then still get in your fruit servings for the day but will have had them much earlier in the day.

There are many tactics and strategies that you can try before resorting to something dangerous like taking fat burning supplements that will work when you stick to them. Take action on the above 4 steps and walk onto the beach or into that high school reunion feeling and looking great. And if you’re lucky, your EX doesn’t subscribe to my newsletter and he’ll be wondering why he ever let you get away.

This is amazing!!! Well, it was amazingly hard the first couple of days but I’m on day 6 and I’m down 5lbs already!!! It seemed crazy to give up the milk, cereal, bread, yogurt, and cottage cheese that I love oh so much. However, by day three I was used to having fruit instead of cereal and romaine leaves insted of bread. I’m pretty fit and a healthy eater but I packed on about 15 pounds after having to take oral steroids for an illness I have. I dont look at this as a permanent fix but it is a great jumpstart for heading back into my normal regimen of diet and excercise!

I am going to try this. I wonder though if you can drink soy milk? I like to make fruit shakes. Can anyone help with this?

  3. Jun 23 2010

Soy anything is not DSP approved. If you are going to consume milk, it should only be unpasteurized certified organic.

    Hi
I’ve been trying to lose weight for the past summer. I pretty much avoid sugar, butter, and junk food. I barely eat and drink tons of water. I exercise as well by walking outside. I do 5 min exercises in my room. I barely eat bread and dont eat rice. Soy milk isnt even on my list. I drink the reduced fat milk and eat a “healthy” cereal in the morning but I haven’t seen any of the results yet. I dont know what my body requires..and I dont know what to do. Soon, I’ll be getting engaged and I cannot look like this! Please help me on this one.

Nadia, the first thing I’m going to say is that you need to eat! You will mess up your metabolism if you continue to barely eat. It is important to eat healthy foods when you are hungry – don’t starve yourself. Avoiding soy, sugar and junk food, and drinking a lot of water are great things to be doing. Question on the advice above. It says to cut out wheat and dairy for 2 weeks then grains for 2 weeks. Can you start eating the wheat and dairy after those 2 weeks while you are going with out the grains for 2 weeks?

Teresa, I don’t mean that you should cut out wheat and dairy for 2 weeks and then stop and cut out grains for 2 weeks. I would suggest cutting them all out at the same time. I recommend doing this because so many people find that their bodies can’t handle grains and dairy – they have much more success when they don’t consume these foods.

thank you for reminding me. these are things i had randomly done that worked already…so I know that you are right. I lost 60 lbs last year and have kept off 50. i ate huge plates of raw foods..the more nuts i ate [quality kind ] the better it got. and I have not been able to drink milk or eat bread since i was 14 with out putting on a pound a day; however the raw food enzymes healed me so that i have eaten nothing but wicked food especially hords of white bread a day and only gained 5 lbs in 2 months…..bread with hords of butter. my body is getting sick again though and the weight is picking up speed along other health issues returning. women like mrs america runner ups around here have all gone for the craze with ‘good earth’s’ hcg? is that the name. I feel sorry for them because who knows how they will pay later.

Mark, I don’t recommend consuming alcohol of any kind at any time, but definitely not during the first 2 weeks of the program.

Ummm, Isabel, if we are supposed to avoid grains for at least two weeks… what the heck are we supposed to eat for breakfast? I see the quinoa breakfast recipe but what else do you suggest?

  16. TheDietSolution
    Nov 16 2010

Sinanju, unfortunately, we have been conditioned to believe that breakfast equals grains (cereal, waffles, pancakes, etc.). Personally, I like to have leftovers from last night’s dinner for breakfast – or I’ll cook up some chicken and vegetables.

Do you find that people rebound a few pounds upon reintroducing grains/dairy into their diets? If I do not have a specific reason why I need to drop a few pounds ASAP, would it be better to simply stick to the regular plan and do it slowly-but-surely?

I am excited to finally have solid advice for a great diet! I already eat according to your plan! Yeah for me! I make most meals from scratch, like I was raised, and even bake my own bread. I can grind my own wheat, corn, rice, etc. for different flours. Please send me some ideas on “breads” to make with optional flours. I have been eating the multi-grain,seedy type. My husband teases me that my favorite bread looks like “bird seed” food to him! He doesn’t know what he is missing. So, if you are wondering, YES, I am having a hard time giving up my yummy bread! I need something to slather my almond butter on…

Thanks Isabel for everything, but i have a question. Can i drink proyein drinks, such as muscle milk for breakfast? I appreciate your thoughts,

    Jason

Jason, the only protein powder that is recommended is Prograde. For the most part, it is recommended that you get your nutrition from real food, as opposed to a drink or powder.
