The majority of the foods recommended in the Diet Solution Program are wholesome,

  • natural grains

How much weight can I lose on The Diet Solution Program?
All the weight you want to lose! You can achieve your ideal weight when you follow the nutritional principles taught in this manual.

You will see and feel the results right away. Most people lose anywhere from 4-8 lbs just in the first week. I know what you’re thinking, some of this weight is water weight, but why are most people holding on to so much water weight to begin with? Because they are eating all the wrong foods. After the first week, weight loss averages 1-2 lbs every week.
Why does this program work (where so many other programs have failed)?
Countless studies and real world results have proven every principle taught in The DSP to be the most effective way to lose weight and prevent disease and negative health conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Isabel personally incorporates every principle taught in the Diet Solution Program into her and her family’s daily life. Similarly, countless numbers of her own clients, seminar attendees, fellow health professionals and friends and family have followed these exacts principles and achieved their own weight loss and health success.
How does the Diet Solution Compare to other popular weight loss programs (named individually)?
Atkins
The Atkins Diet is an extremely low carbohydrate diet that limits every type of carbohydrate (even fruits and vegetables). The Diet Solution Program does agree that eating carbs in excess is the root of most people’s weight gain and health problems, but differs from the Atkins program in that it believes substantial weight loss and increased health can be achieved while still incorporating healthy fruits, vegetables and certain grains into ones meal plans. The Diet Solution Program does not recommend the extreme carbohydrate reduction method to lose weight.

The Zone
The Zone Diet teaches 4 main principles:

  1. Eat more fruits and vegetables, and less pasta, breads, grains and starches
  2. Eat small amounts of low-fat protein at every meal and snack
  3. Eat more frequent meals with fewer calories
  4. Drink eight glasses of water per day


The Diet Solution does believe that all of the above statements are healthy, except for the fact that some people (labeled Protein types based on the Metabolic Typing Test) do feel better eating higher fat proteins like beef, dark meat poultry and some fatty fish. The Diet Solution Program also does not agree with the ingredients in many Zone products which contain soy protein and corn syrup.

South Beach
The South Beach Diet promotes healthy protein sources at each meal while keeping complex carbohydrates to a minimum. The Diet Solution Program also teaches the importance of protein and the difference between those carbs that are healthy and those that are not. The DSP does not promote the use of artificial sweeteners as the South Beach Diet does. Diet products and diet drinks filled with sweeteners are harmful to the body and cause weight gain. The Diet Solution Program also does not agree with the ingredients in many South Beach products such as soy, corn syrup and palm kernel oil.

The Rice Diet Solution
The plan consists of a very low-calorie, high-complex carbohydrate, low-sodium, low-fat, low-sugar, low-protein, whole-foods diet. The plan allows for whole-grain starches, low-sodium beans, fruits, vegetables, nonfat dairy and very lean protein sources. The Rice Diet has been used in specific clinics as quite an extreme and fast approach to weight loss. The Diet Solution does not promote this extreme method of weight loss but rather teaches a lifestyle plan that can be realistically maintained long term. The Diet Solution Program also believes that certain fats are a necessary component to any healthy meal plan and such extreme “low fat” approaches can actually be harmful to the body. The Diet Solution Program also believes that the right kind of salt is an essential part of a healthy eating regimen.

Kathy Freston Detox
Kathy Freston’s Quantum Wellness became extremely popular when Oprah decided to follow her 21 day detox plan. Kathy’s program is a complete Vegan approach (eliminating all animal foods – meats, poultry, eggs, fish). Where as a short detox period can be a great benefit to any person, this is not a realistic lifestyle approach. The Diet Solution Program teaches people how they can maintain weight loss and eat healthy in the long term. Kathy’s program also promotes soy and soy products. For a variety of reasons, The Diet Solution Program does not believe in the consumption of soy and soy products.
Do I have to exercise for this program to work?
Ideally, everyone should incorporate some form of healthy activity into their life. Exercise is essential, but The Diet Solution Program even works without the inclusion of an exercise program. The Diet Solution Program does encourage the start of a healthy workout program. Is this program an extreme diet?
The Diet Solution Program is in no way “extreme”. It is a real way of eating that can be maintained for life. The DSP teaches you exactly how you have to eat to lose weight and how you will keep it off for the long term, WITHOUT any extreme methods.
Do I have to buy any supplements, pills, or bars and shakes for this program?
No! Pills, supplements, bars or shakes are not necessary for this program to work. In fact, it strongly urges against them, as most supplements do not prove any long term results. The Diet Solution program teaches all of the principles that you must follow before including any supplement into your meal plan. Any supplement, bar or shake will just be a waste of time and money without first following your personalized Diet Solution meal plan.
I am a vegetarian, will this program work for me?
The Diet Solution Program is usually an eye opening experience for most vegetarians. While the program does teach the importance of including a healthy protein source into each meal, these sources do not only need to be from animals, but can also be from raw nuts and eggs. The program will also help to clear up many common misconceptions about soy products, grains, sugar, sugar substitutes, and dairy.
I am currently going through menopause. Will this program still work for me?
While menopause can make weight loss a bit more challenging, when you are eating the right, healthy foods, that helps your body regulate your hormones and make menopause a lot easier to deal with. Try some of the "no grain" meal plans to give your metabolism a good jumpstart and you should begin to feel better pretty quickly.
I am pregnant, trying to get pregnant or nursing. Can I still follow this program?
Yes, in fact I would recommend eating this way during this crucial time in a child’s life. This program requires you to eat the best quality foods at all times so your child will only be receiving the best, natural nutrients.
I have a physical ailment, such as fibromyalgia. Can I still follow this program?
Because this program requires you to follow a healthy, all natural eating plan, it is ideal for many physical ailments. In some cases, aches and pains tend to lessen as your body enjoys more and more all natural foods.
How will the Diet Solution Program affect my Diabetes?
If you are currently taking prescription medication for your Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, it is important that you discuss any changes in your daily nutrition with your physician.

Because the Diet Solution Program focuses on natural foods (such as healthy proteins and fibrous fruits & vegetables) and recommends the reduction of most processed grains, you may experience a natural reduction in blood sugar. You must discuss these changes with your physician so that he or she may oversee any necessary changes that need to be made in your current medications.

Many diabetics find it necessary to check their blood sugar more often in the initial stages of The Diet Solution Program.
I am allergic to certain foods, can I still follow The Diet Solution Program?
The Diet Solution Program has proven wonderful results for people with allergies to certain foods.

If you are allergic to eggs and/or dairy, the Diet Solution Program offers a variety of other healthy protein sources that you can include in your meal plans without these foods. If you are allergic to peanuts or other nuts, these foods do not need to be included in your meal to see great results. If you are allergic to berries, or other varieties of fruits and vegetables, you can eliminate those foods from your food choices and choose from the remaining fruits and vegetables that you can eat.
Do I need to follow the Diet Solution Program to the letter for it to work?
I encourage everyone to really challenge themselves to reach a level of health and an ideal weight they may not have thought was ever possible for them before. Really taking themselves beyond limits that may have seemed impossible in the past.

But, the Diet Solution Program even works if you begin with one small change at a time. Most people even experience dramatic changes in their weight and their health after just incorporating one of the principles taught in the program!
Can the Diet Solution Program be applied to my entire family (including my really young children)?
You will actually find that every principle taught in The Diet Solution Program is also applicable to children. I only recommend wholesome, natural foods, which are exactly what every growing child needs. The meal plans and all food suggestions offer a great healthy eating plan for the whole family.

Are there any risks or dangers associated with following The Diet Solution Program?

The Diet Solution Program only recommends all natural foods that are found in nature. As such, the risks in following these meal plans are extremely low. With that being said, there are a small percentage of people that do experience one or more of the following reactions:

If you are someone who has been eating processed foods, high amounts of sugar and/or caffeine, or has not made fruits and vegetables an integral part of your eating regimen, you may experience some detox symptoms. This may or may not include headaches, dizziness, digestive difficulties, trouble sleeping, fatigue, and gastrointestinal distress. These symptoms quickly subside after a few days depending on your starting point. We highly recommend consulting your physician before making any changes to your dietary habits.

If you are taking prescription medications and are under a doctor’s care, it is imperative that you consult your physician before implementing the dietary changes taught in The Diet Solution Program. You may experience the need for a decrease or increase in certain medications, which can only be monitored and recommended by your doctor. In the case of many diabetics, your need for insulin and/or diabetic medication may drastically decrease and should be discussed with your doctor.

No known long term risks have ever been associated with eating and maintaining a healthy diet.
